Cinghie di ancoraggio and lashing straps for the Italian market

An Italian enquiry asks for a cinghia di ancoraggio or a cinghia a cricchetto, and the buyer reads the blue label before the price. We build to EN 12195-2 with the full label and the Italian warning text, from our own 8,700 m² factory.

First, the words

The words your buyer uses

Half of the back-and-forth in an export order is vocabulary. Here is what the same product is called in this market, and which of those words changes what we print on the label.

Factor of safety, angle and the blue label

Italian carriers work to EN 12195-2 for the strap and EN 12195-1 for the calculation, under the technical roadside inspection framework of Directive 2014/47/EU. The Codice della Strada sets the duty to arrange the load so it cannot move or fall; the standards say how that is demonstrated.

  • The factors of safety are stated in the standard and Italian inspectors know them: the complete assembly at least 2× the LC, the webbing 3× and the steel ratchet 2×. A supplier who cannot quote these numbers is guessing.
  • Diagonal lashing needs at least four lashings, with the vertical angle between the deck and the strap at 20° to 65° and the horizontal angle to the load axis between 6° and 55°. Outside those angles the lashing does not do what the calculation assumed.
  • The label colour is the fibre: blue is PES polyester, green is polyamide, brown is polypropylene. Polyester is the right answer for road lashing, and the blue label is what an Italian buyer checks first.
  • Every label must carry LC, STF, SHF, the length in metres, the elongation at LC, the material, the manufacturer, the year, the traceability code and the words solo per ancoraggio, non per sollevamento — for lashing only, not for lifting.
  • Wear limits are specific: webbing cut or abraded by more than 10% of its width, damaged stitching, heat deformation, chemical damage, a deformed ratchet or a hook opened beyond 5% all put the strap out of service. We can supply to that inspection standard, not just to the strength figure.

Marking

What goes on the label

Site and roadside inspections fail on labels more often than on the product. Every strap and sling we ship for this market can be marked with the full set:

  • Manufacturer identification and country of origin
  • EN 12195-2 as the standard number
  • LC, STF and SHF in daN, and the elongation at LC
  • Length in metres, material (PES) and a traceability code
  • Solo per ancoraggio, non per sollevamento — for lashing only, not for lifting
Documentation

What travels with the shipment

  • Declaration of conformity to EN 12195-2, or EN 1492-1 / -2 for slings
  • Batch pull-test report linked to the traceability code on the goods
  • TÜV GS certificates — ratchet tie downs (S 50594629), flat webbing slings (S 50594633)
  • TÜV CERT DIN EN ISO 9001 quality management certificate
  • Invoice, packing list and certificate of origin for Italian customs

Working with us

How an order is placed

01

Send the LC and the angles

The LC in daN, the length, the end fitting and the lashing method — pressure or diagonal. If the body is a centina, say so, because it decides the fitting.

02

Sample with the blue label

A free evaluation sample with the full EN 12195-2 label, so the marking and the not-for-lifting warning are agreed before the run.

03

Production and paperwork

Batch production with pull testing, then the certificate pack. Genoa, La Spezia and Trieste schedules are routine for us.
