Pasy transportowe and lashing straps for the Polish market

Polish buyers search for pas transportowy and specify by LC and STF in daN. Poland runs one of the largest international fleets in Europe, so the specification that arrives is usually already right — what decides the order is whether the label is correct and the paperwork travels with the goods.

First, the words

The words your buyer uses

Half of the back-and-forth in an export order is vocabulary. Here is what the same product is called in this market, and which of those words changes what we print on the label.

How Poland checks a load

What the label has to say, and what it is made of

EN 12195-2 applies throughout the EU and is the standard the ITD (Inspekcja Transportu Drogowego) works from at roadside and border checks. Internal factory standards and ISO certificates do not replace it on a lashing strap.

  • The label colour is the material, and it is not decorative: blue is PES (polyester), green is PA (polyamide), brown is PP (polypropylene). A blue label on PP webbing is a marking fault, and PP also has a lower temperature range.
  • A two-part lashing has a label on each part — one on the webbing, one on the ratchet assembly. The real length of the set is the sum of the two, which is why length disputes usually start on the label rather than at the factory.
  • Every label carries LC, STF, the length, the year and code of manufacture, the manufacturer identification and the standard number. If a strap arrives without a readable label it is treated as if it did not meet the standard at all.
  • The inspector looks at whether the load can slide, tip or fall under braking and cornering: the number and condition of the straps, the tension, the anchor points, anti-slip matting and blocking. A frayed strap fails the check before the calculation is even discussed.
  • Poland enforces at the border as well as on the road, and a vehicle that fails can be stopped until the load is re-secured. That is downtime on top of the fine, which is why the cheap strap is the expensive one.

Marking

What goes on the label

Site and roadside inspections fail on labels more often than on the product. Every strap and sling we ship for this market can be marked with the full set:

  • Manufacturer identification and country of origin
  • EN 12195-2 as the standard number on every part of a two-part lashing
  • LC and STF in daN, plus SHF, normally 50 daN
  • The length of each part and the elongation at LC
  • Year of manufacture, batch code, and a label colour matching the fibre — blue for PES
Documentation

What travels with the shipment

  • Declaration of conformity to EN 12195-2, or EN 1492-1 / -2 for slings
  • Batch pull-test report linked to the label code on the goods
  • TÜV GS certificates — ratchet tie downs (S 50594629), flat webbing slings (S 50594633)
  • TÜV CERT DIN EN ISO 9001 quality management certificate
  • Invoice, packing list and certificate of origin for EU entry
